Cyclobenzaprine, a centrally-acting skeletal muscle relaxant, is structurally related to tricyclic antidepressants, thus they share similar properties. It acts on the brain stem, decreasing tonic-somatic motor activities influencing both the α and δ motor systems. It is used as an adjunct in the symptomatic treatment of painful muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal conditions.

সাধারণ ডোজ ৫-১০ মিলিগ্রাম প্রতিদিন তিনবার মুখে সেব্য। দৈনিক ডোজ ৬০ মিগ্রা এর বেশি অতিক্রম করা উচিত নয়। ২ বা ৩ সপ্তাহের বেশি চিকিত্সায় নির্দেশিত নয়।বয়স্কদের ক্ষেত্রে ডোজ: বয়স্কদের মধ্যে সাইক্লোবেনজাপ্রাইন থেরাপি ৫ মিলিগ্রাম ডোজ দিয়ে শুরু করা উচিত এবং ধীরে ধীরে বাড়ানো উচিত।হেপাটিক বৈকল্যের ক্ষেত্রে ডোজ: হেপাটিক বৈকল্যযুক্ত রোগীর ক্ষেত্রে সাইক্লোবেনজাপ্রাইন ৫ মিগ্রা ডোজ থেকে শুরু করে ধীরে ধীরে বাড়িয়ে সতর্কতার সাথে ব্যবহার করা উচিত। মাঝারি থেকে গুরুতর বৈকল্যযুক্ত রোগীদের ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহার করার পরামর্শ দেওয়া হয় না।পেডিয়াট্রিক ব্যবহার: ১৫ বছরের কম বয়সী পেডিয়াট্রিক রোগীদের মধ্যে সাইক্লোবেনজাপ্রাইন হাইড্রোক্লোরাইডের নিরাপত্তা এবং কার্যকারিতা প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়নি।

The adverse reactions reported most frequently with Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride are drowsiness, dry mouth and dizziness. The incidence of these common adverse reactions is lower in the surveillance program than in the controlled clinical studies.

Because of its atropine-like action, Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride should be used with caution in patients with a history of urinary retention, angle-closure glaucoma, increased intraocular pressure, and in patients taking anticholinergic medication.

Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride may have life-threatening interactions with MAO inhibitors. Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride may enhance the effects of alcohol, barbiturates, and other CNS depressants.

Hypersensitivity to any component of this product. Concomitant use of monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors or within 14 days after their discontinuation. Hyperpyretic crisis seizures, and deaths have occurred in patients receiving Cyclobenzaprine (or structurally similar tricyclic antidepressants) concomitantly with MAO inhibitor drugs. Acute recovery phase of myocardial infarction, and patients with arrhythmias, heart block or conduction disturbances, or congestive heart failure. Hyperthyroidism.

Pregnancy category B. This drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Caution should be exercised when Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride is administered to a nursing mother.

Although rare, deaths may occur from over dosage with Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride. Signs and symptoms of toxicity may develop rapidly after Cyclobenzaprine overdose; therefore, hospital monitoring is required as soon as possible.
